Wandering
Root is a 4 piece band from eastern PA with a unique sound that
has been described as "Pink Floyd
and The Beatles made love at a Grateful Dead concert." The
four members of Root bring four diverse tastes to their collective
table with influences ranging from Progressive Rock, Funk, Latin,
Bluegrass, Singer-Songwriter Folk, Jam and Jazz styles of music.
Since their inception in 2007, Wandering Root has become a regional
touring act specializing in what they term "Compositional
Improv Rock." Like some of their fellow jam scene cohorts,
no Root show is ever the same--each performance is a new thematic
adventure. Don't Delay. Get Rooted. Join Root on the Wandering
Route.

BIO's
Jason
E. Hedrington (keyboards, vocals) has been a touring/recording
musician since 1997 when he left the friendly fields
and streams of wisconsin to seek fame and fortune by following
the star to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. When asked how many
bands he's played in he said "I lost track somewhere
in the 30's." Among them: Kef, Emergent Evolution,
The Sconnsyltucky Ooftah Boys and The Gonzo Project.
He figures
his career highlight was having Napolean Murphy Brock
yell at him for touching his sax during soundcheck while
touring
with The Insidious Rays as an opener for Frank Zappa
tribute band, Project/Object. Jason is an analog/vintage
equipment
geek and rocks the Moog Voyager. He hopes one day to
get back to the Great State of Mind of Sconnsyltuckee
where
he can sit on the front porch, listen to Da Stinkers
football game (maybe they'll win one this year) and drink
a coupla-two-three
Leinies.
Randal
Getzoff (drums) patrols Pennsylvania in search of bugs
to kill when he's not studying drums with drum guru Martin
Bradfield. Randal can also sing, play bass, guitar, banjo
and a little piany (although the guys don't let him), AND
he also studied film production and sound engineering in
college. So, basically, Randal could record all the instruments
himself in his own studio, master and press the album AND
shoot the video. He may fire the rest of the band any day.
When in character as Lunker Ooftah he reigns supreme as
the Sconnsyltuckee State Champion of Pin the Rock on the
Bottle.
TJ
Duddy (bass/vocals) comes from a family filled with musicians.
Virtually everyone from the Duddy clan is a musician in
some way or another, (we won't mention Uncle Billy who
has not been allowed to see any of his nephews since the
INCIDENT in the pool)). So it was a matter of time before
TJ became one himself, becoming an accomplished guitar
player and bass guitar player. TJ is one of the founding
members of Wandering Root, and he loves sandwiches. He
is also known as "no filter ooftah" in the land
of Sconnsyltuckee, if you talk to TJ for five minutes,
you'll understand why. TJ plays a Geddy Lee Signature Fender
Jazz bass guitar and he plays it through an Avalon U5 direct
input he won from Ryan Stasik of Umphrey's McGee in a cock
fight....they bet on chicken fights people!!!! TJ also
plays in Brothers Duddy with his brother Chris (Natural
Breakdown), Neon Conspiracy with Chris, Marc Gallo (Sage/Wynrise)
and Ryan Decker (Almighty Terribles), and plays with the
Gonzo Project with the Root's own Jason (Ole Ooftah) Hedrington.
Asa
Wilson (guitar) is an SG man. Except for when he's a Strat
man. The guys in root never saw him giddier than when he
rewired his guitar and set up a stereo-amp rig. A burgeoning
tech-geek, college student studying sound/recording engineering
as well as a face-melting lead guitar player, Asa doesn't
sweat the fact that he is the newest and youngest member
of The Root. Asa is surprisingly spiritual, as evidenced
by his rubber bracelet "WWTABBD?" (What Would
The Allman Brothers Band Do?). For this, his melodic jams
and his powerful tone the guys in Root invited him into
Sconnsyltuckee as the character Soul Full Balls. They may
have forgotten to mention he has the right to choose his
own name. That's what you get for being the new guy.
