I apologize for posting two smoothie recipes back to back but this smoothie is heaven to me right now.  I find myself drinking it several times a week and the flavor is unlike any smoothie I have ever had.  So naturally I felt like I had to share it even if I did just share a smoothie.  I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I have, Cash even thinks it is a winner!

This smoothie came about because a few weeks ago I was finding myself feeling a little run down and feeling a little blah.  I was feeling like I needed a little vitamin C and thought that adding some pink himalayan sea salt would add some nutrients that I needed.  The sea salt reminds me of when you drink a margarita with salt and get just a hint of salt when you drink your margarita.  It is wonderful.  Start out with just a little, like a few flakes, and adjust as necessary.  You don't want it to taste like you are drinking salt, you just want the hint of salt.  I also added a little almond butter for some protein and it adds a really great subtle flavor to the smoothie.

Pink Himalayan Sea Salt Strawberry Orange Smoothie

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 6 strawberries
  • 1/2 orange
  • 1 Tbsp almond butter
  • 3/4 - 1 c coconut milk
  • 1/2 c crushed ice
  • few flakes pink himalayan sea salt

Directions:

  1. Place all the ingredient in a blender, blend until smooth {about 1 min}.  Make sure to start with just a few flakes of sea salt and add more as desired.  Enjoy!
