Hello September!

Hello September! l wanderingroot.com

It's the beginning of September, which marks the unofficial start to fall.  Even though fall is 3 weeks away, the pumpkin spiced lattes are rolling out, sweaters line the store shelves, and school is back in session, so yeah summer is pretty much over.  Speaking of pumpkin spice lattes, if you are like me and do crave the pumpkin spice latte right now but can't stomach a hot drink on an 86 degree day, then you much try my iced pumpkin spice latte.  Have an extra one for me though, because right now I can't do any added sugar and very minimal low glycemic fruit, womp, womp.

Since summer is basically over I thought this would be a good time to do a summer wrap up and fill you guys in on all of our summer activities.  This summer has been a big one for our family, but those big events aside I would sum the summer up with these words: gardening, outdoors, water, farmer's markets, and jewelry.

Pretty much every morning starts with cuddles with this guy, followed by breakfast {usually eggs with either some bacon, sausage, grilled plantains, fruit or some kind of paleo muffin}, some outdoor play, then we get on with our day!  Yesterday he was gardening first thing in the morning and having so much fun doing it!  It is super important to me that Cash knows where his food comes from and he knows the value of real food.  Having a garden helps with this so much!  He loves to pick the tomatoes {only the green ones!} and then he so proudly brings them to the kitchen for me.  He also loves to pick "flowers" {dandelions} for me and making me smell them. :)

This pool has been a favorite this summer.  Cash got it for his 2nd birthday and he just loves it!  Once he got it, we stopped going to the pool as much because this was just so easy to pull out and he has a blast in it.  It has water features and everything, lucky boy!  He loves going between his pool and his towel for a quick warm up.

This summer I also sold my jewelry at our local farmer's market.  We have a few more weeks left and then it is time to kick off selling for the holidays!  I am sharing a booth with my friend Crystal who sells the most amazing skin care items.  I love everything I have of hers!  It definitely makes it fun sharing a booth together and getting to hang out kid free for a few hours.  I will be sad for it to be over and I still cannot believe how quickly it has gone by!

Every day we did our best to soak up summer and do fun stuff along with real life stuff.  We also enjoyed our times in the mountains this summer so much!  Cash loved being able to visit Grammy and Poppa at the ranch where he fell in love with cow cows and still talks about them everyday.  Life with this little boy is the best!

So onto the big stuff...

The summer was kicked off with Kass getting a promotion and now he is in the position he has been working so hard to get to.  Super exciting stuff!  We also closed on our first house 2 days ago!  Now the weekend/evening projects begin.  I think Kass may be a little scared that I am going to drain our bank accounts in the "making a house a home" process.  Worry not, I will proceed with caution and be a *mostly* responsible adult.  I love DIY projects and decorating, so this is right up my alley!

So there you have it, our summer at a quick glance.  Now it is time to look forward to fall!

I am not going to lie, I have ordered some sweaters and leggings already and am in a baking, canning mode which always kicks in for me during the fall.  I am driving Kass a little crazy with all the places I want to visit this fall along with the house projects.  First up though, buying a new washer, hot water heater, and faucet.  Welcome to home ownership!
