Dandelion Tea Latte

Fall is officially upon us and boy does it feel that way in Western Colorado.  It is a cool crisp day (hello leggings and chunky sweaters) and on the way to Vitamin Cottage this morning I couldn't help but notice the leaves starting to slowly turn to beautiful shades of yellow.  Next week we will head to Denver and I am looking forward to the drive through the Vail valley and how beautiful it will look, but Vail never seems to have problems looking beautiful. :)

Cooler weather means lots of hot beverages in our house.  Mornings are made better and brighter with something to warm you up and get you ready for the day.  After lunch nothing gets you through the afternoon like something to warm and perk you up and nights are wrapped up with a calming/soothing herbal tea.  I have shared on here recently that while I enjoy coffee I am on a little break from it while dealing with Candida.  A little while ago I shared on Instagram that I was trying out a Dandelion Tea Latte and it seemed to be of interest, so I thought I would share my recipe here. :)  It is not a sweet drink, so if you like your coffee sweetened simply add some honey or maple syrup.  If you like your coffee with cream or plain lattes you will love this version.

I chose to do a Dandelion Tea Latte for a very specific reason though.  Since I am detoxing and ridding my body of Candida I have been trying to support my liver and Dandelion Tea is great for your liver.  With the holidays coming up and alcohol consumption on the rise adding this tea to your daily beverages can help your liver make it through the holidays too. :)  Dandelion Tea has a lot of other benefits too.  Check them out here

Do you drink Dandelion Tea?  If so, how do you enjoy it?  I am always looking to try something new!

Dandelion Tea Latte

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Add 1 cup of water to your coffee pot.  Add the Teeccino and brew as you would coffee.
  2. Once the Teeccino has brewed, add it to your mug and add the Roasted Dandelion Tea bag.  Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. While the tea is steeping, add the coconut milk to a small saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Once the tea is done steeping, remove the tea bag and toss.
  5. Once the coconut milk is to a temperature of your liking add it to the tea mixture.  If you have a frother use it to make it smooth, creamy and foamy.  If you do not have a frother, add it to a blender and blend on high for 15 seconds.  This will make it creamy and foamy. :)

Note:  Feel free to adjust this to your liking.  If you like a stronger latte use less coconut milk or more Teeccino.  If you like it creamier, use less Teeccino or add more coconut milk.  Use this recipe as a base to make it your own.
